Every year during the holiday season, the staff at Sutherland Insurance chooses four local organizations to help with their holiday season needs. These organizations are doing great work in their respective fields and are making a positive impact on the community.
For the 2023 holiday season, we chose:
Guelph Adopt a Family
This program of the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington connects both families and independent youth in need during the holiday season with donors who provide gifts and grocery-needs gift cards. Social-community agencies in Guelph and Wellington County refer families to the program.
Guelph Hope House
Hope House is a non-profit organization that provides compassionate assistance to vulnerable people in Guelph, including those experiencing poverty, homelessness and social isolation. They offer a range of services, including a food market, clothing market, and community meals .
Portage Elora Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Centre for Youth
This non-profit organization operates a residential drug addiction rehabilitation center for youth in Elora. The center provides a therapeutic community environment where residents work through the underlying issues that caused their substance abuse and develop the self-esteem and confidence to go on to lead healthy, productive, drug-free lives.
Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis

This organization provides services to women and children who have experienced domestic violence and/or sexual assault. They offer a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and more.
